Artists unite! Rihanna has endorsed Kanye West’s plan to run for Presidency in 2020, and we think she is mad… in fact, we think the whole thing is complete and utter madness.
In case you have been living under a rock, on Sunday evening Kanye West accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award at the MTV Video Music Awards. In his 13-minute long speech, Kanye mentioned that he is planning on running for Presidency in the 2020 election. Whether it’s a joke that literally nobody got, or not, we don’t really know. What we do know is that Kanye West’s ego is that big he probably believes he could become President in 2020.
As you can imagine, the White House laughed off Kanye’s bid, as it was recently reported that the White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said that he looks “forward to seeing what slogan he chooses to embroider on his campaign hat”.
Whilst Kanye’s bid for Presidency has been met with quite a few concerned looks, he could very well go ahead with his plans, you know what he’s like. We’re here for Kim Kardashian being the First Lady… could you imagine?
Speaking with ET in a recent interview, Rihanna stated that she endorses Kanye’s bid for Presidency as if people are voting for Donald Trump, then surely people would vote for Kanye.
“I mean people are voting for [Donald] trump. Who wouldn’t vote for Kanye?!” she said.
In all seriousness, even if Kanye did run for Presidency, he wouldn’t come anywhere close, but the weird little fantasy we have in our heads is quite something. Kanye West being President… we don’t know whether we’d fear for the USA or not. But either way, it would be interesting to see how much support he would actually garner and how many people would actually physically vote for him.
