A teacher was made to pull down his impressive classroom decorations just a few days after the start of term because the school had received complains about his Kanye West room theme.
Adrian Perez, a devoted fan of the rap star, decided to pay tribute to his idol in his classroom at McCabe Elementary school in Mendota, California.
Everything from the noticeboards to the red front door had some form of creative Yeezy reference but it seems some parents were not as impressed as his fourth grade students.
Deeply influenced by his hero's lyrics, Perez decided to spruce up his classroom ahead of the new term, drawing on some of Kanye's biggest hits including 'Good life' and 'Monster'.
'I teach my students to dive deeper in their thought process, use real-world connections, and to think outside the box. If I teach my students to do this, I should do it myself,' Perez told ABC News.
'I thought, 'Let me break the pavement and be innovative, and pull off this Kanye West-themed classroom.'
However, Adrian's innovative new design led to 'bad emails and phone calls' from parents to the school, according to Team Kanye Daily, a Kany West fanpage on Twitter.
Reflecting on his handiwork, Perez spoke proudly of how each noticeboard and decoration was symbolic.
'I was clever with Kanye West lyrics and turned them into positive and motivating display titles for my classroom walls.'
He once described himself as 'Shakespeare in the flesh' but even Kanye West may have been surprised with the teacher's imaginative dedication to his music.
One board is called 'Power Readers', a reference to West's popular single 'Power', with Perez saying he hoped all his students would become strong readers.
Another board, designed for helping to inspire Maths students is called 'Maths Monsters', reflecting the rapper's hit 'Monster'.
Most of the room is decorated in bright red, intended to represent Kanye's famous Red October Nike trainers.
'I was innovative while designing this classroom. I aspire to be the Kanye West of teaching, Perez told Good Morning America.
He said: 'Kanye West is one of the most influential people in the world and is the best at what he does. To elaborate, I want to be a positive influence to my students and be the best teacher I can be for them.'
