Grace Court International Schools started as a dream and has metamorphosed into a mission to proffer concrete solutions to address the charade of what we call education in the South East geo-political zone of the country.
The school is leading a silent academic revolution that will materialise the potentials of our children to regain our pride as the most academically advanced state in Nigeria. The High school is a super-science day school situated in the most serene of academic environments, deep in the hinterland of Udoka Housing Estate, away from the hustle and bustle of the bubbling capital city of Awka.
It has a
well equipped computer laboratory for online studies and distance
learning programmes. Every student of Grace Court International High
School is registered with a configured laptop for the purpose of
inculcating information and communication technologies in the school
students at an earlier stage, as the school is prepared to train them in
skills that will make them competent in today’s world and prepare them
for life after school.
The digital age has greatly changed the
way that people communicate, learn, teach and access information.
Therefore, it is important to understand that young people, for
instance, are now an online population who access information through a
variety of information and communication technologies that include
mobile phones, telescreens and computers.
In the Western world, education is now purely based on information and communication technologies that have transformed the world into a global village. The swiftness and ease of access to information through the internet-connected computers have transformed the education system of the modern world. Distance learning programmes are now in vogue due to this development. Students from all over the world can attend lectures, often called webinars, through internet-connected computers from the comfort of their homes and offices.
In this regard, Grace Court International High School has invested heavily in ICT, making it imperative that pupils/students must be acquainted with contemporary skills that allow them to compete favourably in the global market by engaging them with relevant technological skills that fully prepare them for life after school.
The school has developed its own website which
provides the platform that will link it to the outside world as the
information sharing strategy. The school also works very hard to
regularly monitor and update the schools’ and our pupils’/students’
information management portals online.
The materials are pieced together
from regular school activities and from the development trends both
within the school and the education sector. Our faculty is distinguished
by the use of both theory and practical modes of delivery to further
strengthen the children’s knowledge base. This strategy distinguishes
our children from the pack and presents them as the shining stars
wherever they are. The school’s website further advances our children’s
horizon in wider dimensions.
Grace Court International High School has since introduced courses on information and communication technologies aimed at facilitating the acquisition and absorption of knowledge, which offer the products of the schools unprecedented opportunities to enhance their educational competence to the global standard.
The school building is a massive three storey complex with first-rate classrooms that are fitted with ventilation systems, electric bulbs, shutter curtains, marbled floor, and modern toilet facilities. Every classroom has two toilets and two bathrooms in it. There is a commercial borehole in the school which ensures that water is never in short supply. The school has a sick bay which is overseen by the former Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Medical Centre in Awka.
There is a Biology laboratory, an Introductory Technology
laboratory, a Chemistry laboratory, Physics laboratory and a school
library. There is a stand-by generator in the school for 24/7 power
supply. Apart from this, the school has five Hiace Hummer buses which it
uses to convey school children to and fro school.
