Pep Guardiola has handed the initiative to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich as the Russian looks set to replace current boss Mourinho.
The Express have reported that Bayern Munich boss Guardiola has today stated new contract talks at Bayern are ‘not important’ amid reports linking the Spaniard with a move away from Germany.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has endured the worst possible start to the season so far, with Chelsea losing five games out of ten and languishing in 15th in the Premier League.
Chelsea’s abysmal performances have seen Mourinho come under-fire from the footballing world, and if Chelsea fail to beat Liverpool on Saturday, Abramovich could be finding a replacement manager sooner then anticipated.
Guardiola is the frontrunner to take the reigns at Stamford Bridge, and is currently being given odds of 6/1.
With Guardiola claiming contract talks with Bayern are not at the top of his agenda, he may just listen to offers from the Chelsea owner over a possible move.
