Addressing newsmen in Calabar, the national vice chairman of the APC, South-South, Prince Hilliard Eta, reinstated that Jonathan’s government was extremely corrupt and promoted the culture of impunity.
Accordding to the APC: “We have inalienable rights to probe ex-President Jonathan. We don’t have business with past administrations, including that of Olusegun Obasanjo. Jonathan should have probed Obasanjo. Probing Obasanjo is not our business now. Eight years are too far for us to look into right now.”
“Our immediate concern is to dig out the massive corruption perpetrated by Jonathan and his men. They completely plundered the wealth of Nigeria.”
Speaking further, Eta noted that Nigeria lost a great deal of resources under Jonathan’s outgone administration: “During his tenure, for instance, Nigeria was losing over 400,000 barrels of oil every day. Do you know what that means?,” Etah queried.
Eta, however maintained that another government would equally be free to probe the APC when such time comes, adding that, as a prudent manager, President Buhari would adequately account for the country’s resources at due time.
