The results of last Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections continue to trickle in and it has come with some surprises.
Earlier, it was reported that Saraki in a landslide victory lost his seat to his arch rival and APC candidate, Ibrahim Oloriegbe.
Ike Ekweremadu however was lucky for the fifth time as he was declared winner in Enugu West.
Dino Melaye, Stella Oduah, Ifeanyi Ubah all won their seats respectively.
1. Dino Melaye wins Kogi West Senatorial Seat
Dino Melaye under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has defeated Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to retain his Kogi west senatorial seat.
Emmanuel Bala, returning officer of the election, announced the results in Lokoja, capital of Kogi, the early hours of Monday. He declared that Melaye polled 85, 395 votes to defeat Adeyemi, who scored 66, 901 votes.
Although he won the 2015 election under the APC, he defected to the PDP following a crisis with the leadership of the ruling party.
2.Ekweremadu wins Senatorial Seat For Fifth Time
The deputy president of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, has been declared the winner of his Enugu West Senatorial District for the fifth consecutive time.
Mr Ekweremadu’s political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also won the two House of Representatives seats in the district.
Announcing the result at about 12:10 a.m. on Monday, the Returning Officer for the senatorial district, Douglas Nwagbo, a professor, said Mr Ekweremadu polled 86,088 ahead of his closest rival, Juliet Ibekaku-Nwaugwu of the APC who polled 15,187.
3. Stella Oduah wins Anambra North Senatorial Ticket
Stella Oduah, ex-aviation minister and PDP candidate has been declared winner of the February 23 Senatorial election.
She is one of the 21 candidates who contested for Senatorial Election in Anambra North Senatorial District.
She won the election with 113 989 votes against her closest rival from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) who had 59,937 votes.
4. Ifeanyi Ubah wins Anambra South Senatorial Ticket
The chairman of Capital Oil and Gas, Ifeanyi Ubah, has won the Anambra South Senatorial ticket on the platform of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) polling 87,081 votes.
Ifeanyi Ubah, a former governorship candidate in the state, defeated his closest rival, Chris Uba of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 62,462 votes.
Nicholas Ukachukwu, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, polled 51,269 votes while the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Andy Uba, got 13,245 votes.
5. Ajimobi Loses Senatorial Seat to PDP candidate in Oyo South
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Kola Balogun, has been declared the winner of the Oyo South senatorial district.
Mr Balogun saw off contest from his closest rival, Abiola Ajimobi, of the All Progressive Congress, with a vote difference of 13,502.
The PDP candidate ended the contest with a total of 105,720 votes while Ajimobi of APC had 92,217 votes.
6. Ibikunle Amosun wins Ogun Central Senatorial Seat
Ibikunle Amosun, outgoing Governor of Ogun State, has secured a seat in the National Assembly.
Representing Ogun Central in the Senate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), He secured 88,110 votes to defeat Solomon Sanyaolu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 33,276 votes.
