Iranian table tennis player Amin Ahmadian has delivered awe-inspiring performances at the Road to Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games – Africa second qualification tournament, and secured his spot in the high-status international tournament.
Ahmadian first triumphed over Switzerland’s Pedro Osiro (11-8, 11-9, 11-8, 11-13, 14-12), before defeating Portuguese rival José Pedro Francisco (11-7, 11-0, 11-5, 11-6) and Belgium’s in-form Laurens Devos (7-11, 5-11, 11-9, 11-7, 13-11, 11-8).
The Iranian table tennis player then accounted for Singapore’s Pan Yen En Koen, and beat him (4-11, 11-5, 6-11, 11-7, 11-9, 14-12).
The Road to Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games – Africa second qualification tournament started in the northeastern Tunisian city of Radès, situated 9 kilometers southeast of the capital Tunis, on March 24 and finished the next day.
The table tennis events at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics will be held between October 6 and October 18.
The competitions will take place at the Tecnópolis in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
