Introduction
It can no longer be over-emphasised
that the mission of the school is to spearhead the silent Academic revolution
that will positively turn around the potentials of our children to regain our
pride as the most academically advanced state.
Position of
the School
In this regard, the school has taken
giant steps in the right direction to inculcate the habit of information
technology into our academic programme to introduce these children into the
current evolution in information as the key factor in child’s education
building. Grace Court Int’l Schools has ensured that it is not left out of this
world acceptable information sharing network (the ICT), our website has be enriched
with lots of events, programmes, as well as information. Grace court makes sure
that parents and pupils are not kept in the dark on events and information
about the school and they can also assess the schools’ educative materials,
events and programmes. We have advance and empowered our website to suit the
need for ICT EDUCATION.
In February 2016, the school took
another giant step in fulfilling her promise of being an ICT oriented school,
exposing the pupils/students to the world of ICT and EDUCATION today.
We have consistently trained our
staffs on how to use the ICT for teaching and communicating effectively. We
have also made sure we empower our ICT department with unlimited and consistent
internet connection, making it possible for teachers to send and assess their
online assessment for effective communication with the pupils on and off the
classrooms.
We’ve also provided a mobile
projector for easy learning; and teaching the pupils/students with the aid of a
projector and computer, and also not forgetting to train our pupils on how to
navigate through the computer effectively.
Response of
Parents
But despite the effort of the school
to train our pupils/student to be able to face the challenges poised by the use
of ICT in education, some parents have made our vision more tasking. This is
due to the reasons which they give to their kids. These reasons are fashioned to why they can’t
key to the vision of the school. The school discovered that some reasons why
the pupils/students have refused to participate in the ICT programme is that
their parents;
i.
Can’t empower them
with a laptop/computer
ii.
Can’t provide a modem for an internet connection
Some have also told the pupils that
the school is disturbing them and that they are too young to know how to make
use of the computer and internet.
The Big
QUESTIONS ARE:
ARE OUR KIDS TRUELY TOO YOUNG OR TOO SMALL
TO HAVE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE COMPUTER?
ARE THEY TOO SMALL TO KEY IN TO THE
TREND OF THEIR GENERATION?
