The rumours go rumbling on and on. There seems to be no stopping for the rumour mill. The conveyor belt churning out pieces of news concerning the next destination of the world’s most wanted manager is still going strong.
According to the Independent, the latest episode coming out of the ‘Pep Guardiola: The next destination’ series suggests that the Catalan has decided and has told friends he will be pitching tent with the Red Devils in Manchester. If this is true, it will be a big surprise as the former Barcelona coach is believed to have agreed a deal with the other Manchester club at the Etihad. This is due to the presence of his friends and former colleagues at Barcelona, Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano at Manchester City.
The trio enjoyed tremendous success back in Spain, winning three straight la liga titles and two UEFA Champions league titles, including the treble in 2009. He has also been linked to other Premier League clubs, Arsenal and Chelsea, and it was reported earlier in the week that Chelsea’s Russian owner was prepared to do all in his power to bring the former Barcelona Midfielder to the club, after the expiration of caretaker coach, Guus Hiddink’s tenure.
Where Guardiola will end up will continue to be a source of speculation until there is an official confirmation.
