Arsenal Fans Ecstatic On Twitter After Leicester And Man City Draw Their Game

Leicester City entertained Manchester City at home last night in what turned out to be an entertaining 0-0 draw. The result showed how far Leicester City have come from the same time last year. This time last year, they were rock bottom in the Premier League table and staring down at the Championship after just one season on the summit of English football. Last night, however, was not about the past and was instead about the heroic team effort Leicester are putting in game after game.

Jamie Vardy played with flu and Riyad Mahrez with a knock, but despite all that, the Foxes did not for a moment look out of their depth against what is probably the best team on paper. The combined cost of Leicester City’s entire starting lineup was £17m. To put things in perspective, nine of Manchester City’s 11 players who started last night cost more than that individually.

This result saw Leicester stay second in the table behind Arsenal on goal difference. Manchester City, on the other hand, are three points behind Arsenal and Leicester, with everything to play for at the half-time stage of the Premier League. However, arguably, the real winners of last night were Arsenal. Most Arsenal fans were hoping for a draw and they got just that last night. A win for Manchester City would have meant there would have been no breathing space between Arsenal and tea who are arguably their biggest challengers for the league title.

A win for Leicester, on the other hand, would have meant Arsenal would have entered the New Year in second. But instead, the Gooners will celebrate the New Year with their team at the summit of the table. Almost all Arsenal fans know that this is the best chance they will ever get of winning the Premier League. Never ever will we see a Premier League where Chelsea have been so poor and Man United have been so dire.
