He said that Boko Haram is now changing tactics by hitting soft targets which according to him, indicates that their days are numbered. “For the war against insurgency, we must put focus on how to end it very soon. The Boko Haram menace, to me, all what they are doing now is hitting soft targets which indicates that their days are numbered,” he explained.
“That is why they go for soft target. Today I can comfortably tell you that, because I just came back from North East, they cannot and I repeat that they cannot take any offensive attack against Nigerian Forces, that one is for sure. They will keep on going for soft targets, but I want to assure Nigerians that soft targets too will soon end. Indeed there are other challenges ranging from kidnapping, oil bunkering and what have you, but am sure that all these challenges are coming to an end.”
Muazu further said appealed to the people to give the army necessary support in terms of intelligence and information about how the insurgents prepare their bombs.
“I want to remind all Nigerians that this preparation and the rest is not carried out in the open, is carry out in houses and hidden places. So every Nigerian must key into how we can win the battle against insurgency in the North East. I think with that support, we are going to make it.”
