As Trump speech nears, Congress recalls Trump ‘State of the Uniom’ tickets

While US President Donald Trump will deliver his highly anticipated first State of the Union address in Congress tonight, tickets to the speech have been recalled due to a glaring typo that says "State of the Uniom.”

The White House, which has had its share of spelling and grammatical errors in press releases and administration announcements, is not to blame this time as the House Sergeant at Arms is tasked for printing and distributing the tickets.
A spokesman for the House Sergeant in Arms office told The Hill Monday that the misprint had been corrected, and that the tickets were in the process of being recalled and reprinted. Capitol Police officers will visit congressional offices Monday afternoon to give out new, correctly-spelled tickets to those who picked up typo-ridden ones, the source said.

State of the Union 2018
Trump will deliver his first State of the Union address on Tuesday night, 9 pm Eastern Time. Earlier this month, about three-in-ten (31%) said in a Pew Research Center survey that this year’s speech is “more important” than those in past years, compared with 18% who said it is less important.
According to Politico, a White House official said the speech aims for unity and therefore “the tone will be one of bipartisanship and will be very forward-looking.”
“It will be an attractive message,” the official said
Trump himself told reporters as he finished swearing in his new Health and Human Services secretary, Alex Azar, that his speech covers "a lot of territory." Trump said he would tout the "great success" of the stock market and tax cuts passed at the close of the year, and will also make a push on immigration policies, including DACA.
Politico reported that Trump would talk about strong economic growth in the US, as well as the benefits of an America First trade policy. He also plans to use the opportunity to reveal the details of his long-awaited infrastructure plan.
The speech will get a formal Democratic response from congressman Joe Kennedy. As the grandson of Robert F. Kennedy, he is viewed as having star potential and is a member of a younger wave of Democrats.
Several Democratic members of the Congress are planning to boycott Trump's first State of the Union address this week, citing his hateful rhetoric.
Democrats who plan to boycott Trump's State of the Union address include Congresswomen Frederica Wilson and Jan Schakowsky, and Reps. John Lewis, Earl Blumenauer and Maxine Waters.
Blumenauer has said he will instead send a Dreamer in his place to “remind Trump that these are real people with families and jobs, who are vital to our communities.”
Schakowsky, said in a statement, “The American people have been subjected to a year of racist, erratic, and divisive behavior from their Commander in Chief, and I refuse to accept that as the new normal.”
Multiple Democratic lawmakers have also said they plan to protest Trump’s speech in other ways.
