Majority of Americans believe Trump obstructing Russia probe: Poll

Most Americans think US President Donald Trump did something wrong regarding possible connections between his presidential campaign and Russia and is trying to obstruct the investigation looking into those possible links, according to a new poll.

The poll, by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, finds that more than two-thirds of Americans disapprove of Trump's response to the Russia investigations.
Four in 10 think Trump has done something illegal when it comes to Russia, while 3 in 10 say he's done something unethical.
The poll also found that the deeply divided country is more concerned about the economy and health care than Trump’s possible collusion with the Russian government.
Still, 47 percent say they’re extremely or very concerned about whether Trump or others involved with his campaign had inappropriate contacts with Moscow.
The poll comes just weeks after Trump's former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI regarding his communications with Russian officials during the White House transition.
Trump said after the plea that he fired Flynn for lying to Vice President Pence about his assurances to then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak that he would roll back Obama-era sanctions on Russia for its meddling, raising questions as to whether Trump knew of the lies when he fired him in February.
Flynn was charged by special counsel Robert Mueller, who was appointed to investigate possible collusion after Trump fired FBI Director James Comey.
US intelligence agencies claim Russia-linked hackers provided WikiLeaks with damaging information -- in the form of thousands of hacked emails -- about Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton to skew the 2016 presidential election in favor of Trump.
Trump has repeatedly denied allegations that his campaign colluded with Russians and has condemned the investigations. Russian President Vladimir Putin has also denied the allegations.
