Manchester United are remaining ready to make a bid for Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris if David De Gea departs to Real Madrid.
The 24-year-old Spain international is still a part of boss Louis van Gaal's plans in the build up to the new Premier League season, which gets under way with the visit of Tottenham on Saturday.
However speculation continues to link former Atletico Madrid custodian De Gea with a return to the Spanish capital ahead of the transfer window closing on September 1.
Van Gaal had recently suggested the player had become distracted by the constant reports linking him with Real Madrid and it seemed he was ready to give the green light for him to be sold.
Reports in Spain now claim De Gea's 29-year-old pop star girlfriend Edurne Garcia was this week caught off microphone claiming "when he is in Madrid, everything will be much easier."
Neither club have given any update on his future, but it is being claimed that Van Gaal is prepared to make a big-money swoop to bring in Lloris if De Gea leaves and he will be heartened by the France international's admission that he would relish a move from Spurs to Old Trafford.
