According to The Sun, United's transfer guru Ed Woodward discussed a stunning £137.8m deal with the Spanish giants during his recent trip to the Catalan capital.
Recently, it has been suggested that Neymar, who is currently on the sidelines with mumps, is attracted to the prospect of playing for the Red Devils and has told close friends he is open to a move to the Premier League.
And according to The Metro, the Brazilian's desire to play in England has prompted the Premier League giants to make a move for the former Santos star.
The stunning claim from the Metro comes less than 24 hours after Barca chief Luis Enrique refused to rule out selling the Samba star.
"I heard Neymar and another club and I am no longer interested in this question," the 45-year-old said.
"I don't talk about rumours and this kind of thing.
"I am just focused on analysing my team. In perfect English - you got it?"
