Manchester United winger Angel di Maria has expressed his delight on his impending move to Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain and is already targeting Champions League glory with his new club.
The Argentinian star is on the verge of completing a £44.4million move from Manchester after France Football reported that the 27-year-old completed a medical earlier this evening, and the former Real Madrid man seems very excited for his new adventure in Paris.
Di Maria told BeIN Sports: ‘I am very happy to join PSG. What I know about PSG is that it is a team that won all the possible trophies in France last season.
This is very important for the club. I also know that I want to overcome the obstacle that is the quarter finals of the Champions League. I am going to try to bring the best of my abilities to put myself at the service of this team.
‘We are going to try and go as far as possible in the Champions League.’
Angel Di Maria has struggled in the Premier League after a bright start to his career in England, failing to make it into Louis van Gaal’s starting XI in the final three months of last season.
Manchester United have spent nearly £80million on Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin, Memphis Depay and Matteo Darmian so far this window and it remains to be seen whether or not they will look to sign another wide player in the wake of Angel Di Maria’s departure.
In the last few weeks the club have been heavily linked with Barcelona winger Pedro, who is reportedly keen on a move to Old Trafford this summer.
