Javier Pastore has revealed that his Argentina international teammate Angel Di Maria wants to join him at Paris Saint-Germain.
Di Maria is currently missing after he failed to board the flight to Manchester United's pre-season tour of the United States, with manager Louis van Gaal revealing he has no idea of his location.
Di Maria, who became United's record signing last summer, is thought to be demanding around £170,000-a-week from PSG in order to secure his Old Trafford exit.
And in a bid to push through the move, he has told Pastore that he is desperate to make the move to the French capital.
"He wants to come," Pastore told Le Parisien, "I told him to join us
"He is a very great player. Plus, he alone can win important matches.
"I told him to join us. He also asked me many questions about the club, the city and the way of life for his family."
Pastore does realise that the arrival of Di Maria will represent further competition for places down the wings for PSG - and he relishes that competition.
"I have lots of confidence in myself and my qualities. I do not focus on others," he said.
