Game of Thrones Season 6 Spoilers: Ian McShane cast for mysterious role! Twitter meltdown ensues…

Ian McShane joins the cast of Game of Thrones for its sixth season
Season six of Game of Thrones isn’t due to premiere until next year, and for the first time in the show’s history, we have no clue what’s coming since everyone – readers of the original novels and viewers of the TV adaptation – are at the same point in the story.

Unless the next book in George R.R. Martin’s series arrives before the return of the show, then everyone will be going into the next season knowing very little about what’s to come…

What we do know however is a spot of new casting information, and according to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, actor Ian McShane has joined the cast of the popular HBO show.

One thing we don’t know in regard to McShane joining the cast though is what character he will be playing during the show’s sixth season.

According to Entertainment Weekly, while McShane will have a “relatively small amount of screen-time”, his role will be very important.

Fans are already beginning to speculate about what that important role could be, with many saying he’s going to play Randyll Tarly – Sam’s dad.

That is definitely a possibility after recent casting information from Watchers on the Wall revealed an actor was to be cast a a “Father” character who is “one of the greatest soldiers in Westeros.”

Others meanwhile are speculating that McShane could actually play Euron Greyjoy – who a casting call was also made for – a “Pirate” who “has terrorized seas all around the world.”

In regards to what else we know about the show’s sixth season, according to Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys, from what’s she has seen script-wise, the season is going to be “sick.”

“I’ve seen some of the new scripts and I’m like a kid on a sugar high. I can’t handle how sick some of them are,” she told the Daily Star.

“We’re just going to hit the audience with every episode, coming up with something more mental that the last,” adding “I can’t believe some of the twists in store.”

Game of Thrones is due to return to our screens next year and the future of the show was recently discussed and in particular when the show is likely to end.
