Angelina Jolie Missed Out On Guy Ritchie's Star-studded Wedding As She Was On A Special Four-day United Nations Trip To Burma.
In her first visit to the country, Jolie has joined democracy campaigner and opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi to meet female workers who live and work in dire conditions in an industrial zone outside Yangon, the country's largest city.
The actress, who is a special envoy for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, toured a factory and low-cost hostels that the women are forced to live in.
Earlier this week (beg20Jul15), she travelled to Kachin state to visit a camp housing more than 10,000 refugees who have been displaced since a ceasefire between the Burmese government and rebels broke down in 2011.
Jolie's husband Brad Pitt attended the wedding of Ritchie without his philanthropic wife on Thursday (30Jul15), the Mirror.co.uk reports. It was rumoured the pair would attend together, but Jolie's UN commitments took her overseas for the British director's special day.
Ritchie married model Jacqui Ainsley in a music festival-themed ceremony at the couple's estate in Wiltshire, England. Other guests included Henry Cavill, Jason Statham and David Beckham.
