Social media users react in outrage after a young man allegedly committed suicide because his girlfriend dumped him

Over the weekend, the news of a young graduate who committed suicide after his girlfriend ended their relationship shocked Nigerians.

The man, known as Chucks Brown Paul, allegedly drank multiple bottles of Sniper pesticide after his girlfriend, Rejoice, ended their relationship via text.

After the suicide was made public, social media users criticized the girlfriend for pushing the young man to end his life.

But the woman's brother posted an update claiming that the deceased confessed that he cheated on his sister with her closest friend and with other girls so his sister broke up with him because of infidelity. He also claimed that, in the past, Chucks had threatened to kill himself for a girl he loved. He didn't follow through at the time but ended up going through with it this time, thereby causing his sister to bear the guilt for his actions.

After the young man's post, social media users turned around to direct their outrage at the deceased for not staying alive to tell his side of the story and get over the heartbreak.
