Ezekiel Ansah giving Ghana youth opportunities he never had

Growing up in Ghana, Detroit Lions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah wasn't exposed to American football and spent the majority of his time playing soccer and basketball, while also running track.

It wasn't until Ansah attended BYU in 2008 that he experienced the game of football, and he didn't officially start playing until 2010. Three short years later, Ansah was drafted fifth overall by the Lions.
In March of 2017, Ansah launched the Ezekiel Ansah Foundation (EAF) with a mission "To create realistic opportunities for the youth in sport/ education with an effort to assist them in achieving their goals and inspire the confidence to pursue their dreams."
Three months after it's launch, the EAF held a two-day inaugural football camp, that was attended by over 500 Ghanan youth, with the following goal in mind: "The aim of the camp is to introduce a set of skills often used in the sport of American football while promoting the importance of physical education, teamwork and demonstrating the discipline to work hard towards one's goals."
