The Nigerian Army has spoken on the recent killings recorded in some Benue communities by suspected herdsmen.

Again, no fewer than 20 persons were reportedly killed and several persons declared missing after herdsmen attacked Tse Agudu in Mbawa Council Ward, Guma LGA Area of Benue State.
An entourage of the Nigerian Army, led by the General Officer Commanding, 82 Division, Maj. Gen. Adamu Abubakar, visited Naka, Benue on Wednesday.
While on their visit, Gen. Abubakar in Naka, under the instructions of Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai assured residents that the army would end the killings and protect their lives and property.
The GOC in a statement added, “I am in the state on the instructions of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai, to interact with the field commanders and other heads of security agencies in Benue State with the aim of getting further credible situation report on the rising security challenges in the state with a view to checkmating the problems.
“I wish to inform you that I am visiting Naka village where there was reported security breach.
“We assure residents that the army would end the killings and protect the lives and properties of Benue citizens.”
