Only criminals rise to the top of the food chain in Nigeria. Bank owners and telecom owners steal people's money daily, although most people take no notice of this. Tony Elumelu's UBA paid me a monthly interest of N88 on my savings but went ahead to deduct N406.19 from my account over what they termed 'card maintenance' and 'service charge'.
Each time I recharge N200 on my phone, Airtel invades my phone and deducts N20 from my balance without my consent. Airtel is charging me for something I didn't subscribe to. You might think the amount involved is small but when you multiply N20 by the millions of Airtel customer s affected by this criminal activity, you will realise that crime is the most lucrative business in Nigeria.
