Hundreds of Venezuelans were seen crossing the Tachira River into Colombia, near the border town of Cucuta on Monday morning.
Footage shows some of the people walking across the shallow river carrying suitcases, mattresses and bed frames.
Venezuela has been in the midst of a political crisis since January, when opposition leader Juan Guaido declared himself interim president, in a move that was rapidly recognized by the US, as well as several European and Latin American nations.
A coalition of countries has since tried to deliver humanitarian aid to Venezuela, which has been blocked at the border by President Nicolas Maduro's government.
